First General Meeting Tuesday 9th March 2010 4:30pm
(Sun Mar 07, 2010 11:38 pm)
Welcome to The University of Auckland Photographic Society, a club probably older than most of us. Our aim is to create an environment where members can share their photographic knowledge and experience. We welcome all students with an interest in
photography, from complete beginners to those with years of experience - the only requirement is that you love photography!

General Meetings - Meet regularly to discuss anything photographic, share your photos, and find out about upcoming events.

Workshops - Camera basics, darkroom developing and printing, pinhole photography and more. Most workshops are free for members.

Exhibitions - Each year members have the opportunity to present their work to the public in an exhibition organised by us.

Field Trips - Get to know other members whilst adding to your photographic experience. Destinations have included Auckland Zoo, Hamilton Gardens and the Auckland Fire Station.

Equipment & Resources - Access to our darkroom is free for all members. We have a range of developing and printing equipment, as well as a high-quality digital printer.
We can also sell you film and photographic paper, or lend you a camera.

Want to join? Come to our stall during Orientation week, 1-5 March.
Membership costs $20 for the year. Not sure? Come to our first general meeting
anyway!

Come and join the club/ask questions/check out some interesting cameras
$20 to join for the whole year
$30 for non-university students/staff

The University of Auckland Photographic Society is one of the University's oldest clubs. This year we are celebrating our 30th anniversary and have a lot of great events for members in the works.

We've been pretty much inundated with emails regarding how to join the club, so I've decided to put up an announcement about when we will be available during O-Week for signups:

We will be running a stall in the quad atrium from Monday-Friday from 10am. The stall will shut at about 4pm.

The joining fee this year remains unchanged at $20 for the whole year. As always, last year's members will need to rejoin this year to have access to all the events, workshops and of course the darkroom.

If you cannot pay during the week, you can always leave your name and email and we will still endeavour to keep in touch with you.

This isn't the only opportunity to sign up either. You will be able to do so at any time during the year at one of our office hours, or at any of our events. (Will be announced soon).

End of year Field Trip
(Fri Dec 04, 2009 4:04 pm)
Hey everyone

Hope everything is going well and you are enjoying your holidays.

We are pleased to announce that another field trip is on the horizon. It
will be a day trip to Hamilton Gardens on Saturday 19th of December.

We'd like to get there after the morning traffic rush, so we will meet
at the clock tower at 10am and carpool to Hamilton, aiming to arrive by
12. There we will have a spot of lunch and then take a walk around the
Gardens. We'll aim to get back just before traffic starts getting heavy again
so we will probably leave around 4:30pm. If you are keen on
joining us for dinner back in Auckland you are more than welcome to do
so. We will decide on a restaurant on the day.

The cost is $10 for the trip to be paid to the driver of the car you go in.
If you wish to drive yourself that's that no problem, but if you are able to
carry passengers please do reply to this email indicating that you can, and
we will assign you with some passengers.

Please email us <mike@cn-nexus.com> back by the 16th - this is to ensure we have sufficient time
to compile a list of who is going and organise transportation for everyone.

Cheers,
The Committee
